Healthcare & Nursing Act = Austria-wide standardized regulations governing the training, professional profile, and scope of practice for healthcare and nursing professions

Different healthcare and nursing professions:
- Nursing / Care Assistant
- Nursing / Care Specialist Assistant (Registered)
- Advanced Nursing Service

Education – key facts:

* Training is only possible after completion of vocational training
* Training takes place at schools for Healthcare & Nursing or within the framework of Nursing Assistant courses
* This profession can only be practiced after completing the legally prescribed training
* Professional activities are based on the legally prescribed training content
* Registration in the “Register of Healthcare Professionals” is mandatory to practice this profession

Educational options:

1 - 3-year vocational school for social professions with nursing preparation
2 - Nursing / Care Assistant -> Apprenticeship

Completed training as a Nursing Assistant or comparable qualification (e.g., nursing aide)

ACTIVITIES:
* Supporting nursing staff with basic care (e.g., personal hygiene, mobilization, nutrition)
* Accompanying and supporting patients in their daily lives
* Assisting with the documentation of nursing care measures
* Assisting with medication intake according to instructions (without administering medication)
* Accompanying patients to therapies, appointments, and activities
* Collaboration with the entire nursing team, doctors, and family members
* Adherence to hygiene standards and safety guidelines
