QUALIFICATION:

Education – key facts:

* Training at schools for social care professions
* Duration of 2 years including 1,200 hours of theory + 1,200 hours of practical experience through internships
* Nursing Assistant Certification is included in this training
* Already completed Nursing Assistant Training enables a one-year shortened training for this profession -> provided by the Upper Austria State School for Geriatric Care / AWZ Social Services Training & Further Education Centre Vienna

Admission requirements:
* Minimum age of 17 years
* Proof of mental & physical aptitude for the profession
* Interview

Completed training as a Specialist Social Care Worker or comparable qualification with a focus on Geriatric Care – additional qualifications in the area of ​​activation/assistive devices are desirable

ACTIVITIES:
* Planning, implementation, and evaluation of targeted care and leisure activities for older adults
* Providing tailored support to the individual's life circumstances and resources, promoting social skills, independence, and participation
* Incorporating biographical work, cultural activities, memory and activation methods
* Documentation of measures and observations according to guidelines
* Support with social welfare and psychosocial matters (e.g., support needs, applications)
* Promoting physical, sensory, and mental activity in daily life
* Collaboration with nursing staff, therapists, services, and family members
* Ensuring compliance with hygiene, infection control, and safety standards
